Philip A. Diaz

Philip A. Diaz has over 30 years' experience in executive management in the social service, governmental and private enterprise sectors. His experience includes working as the Assistant Deputy for Prevention, in the White House Drug Czar's Office. In this capacity he was the lead federal official responsible for the development of the nation's drug prevention policy and development of International Demand Reduction efforts. He was responsible for a 1.5 billion dollar budget and oversight for 17 federal agencies involved in drug prevention or international demand reduction.

 

Mr. Diaz is a Vice President for Associated Industries of Florida the largest trade association for business in the state of Florida. At AIF he founded the Governmental Outsource Council. This Council is composed of for-profit and non-profit organizations that receive contracts from state government. This new council represents for-profit enterprises for the first time in this 100 year old business trade association's history.

 

Mr. Diaz was the Governmental Affairs office for the Recovery Network, a for-profit IPO that linked television and radio programming with the social service sector. He co-founded Aspire Behavioral Health. which develops and operates acute care geriatric psychiatric hospitals. In this venture he has paired social service projects with the investment community. Mr. Diaz has managed large 15-27 million dollar mental health and addiction systems. In this capacity he developed numerous ventures.

 

Mr. Diaz received a B.A. degree from the City College of New York and a Masters in Social Work with a major in Administration from Fordham University. He was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Law from Mercy College. He is the recipient of numerous awards included two from the Executive Office of the President. He is the co-author of four books on addiction and the family.
