Current trends in domestic US oil and gas are focused on offshore Gulf of Mexico and onshore oil and gas from fractured hydrocarbon rich shales. With the very large reserves of natural gas and relatively low prices and the application of reservoir fracturing to oil rich shales, companies are actively pursuing opportunities in oil and gas production.
